SPOTLIGHT - I

That was a newly constructed small bridge in Pallavaram (suburbs of Chennai), runs for a kilometer, laid across the railway track of the Chennai Suburban railway network. The lights of the city were shooting up, as the sun was going down. My TVS XL moped was speeding over the bridge by chasing the daylight. My college ID card hung by neck lanyard was swinging along the wind direction by my waist. Unlike my mind, the bridge was very calm with one or two motorbikes and cycles around. I was reminded about traveling on the same bridge 5 months ago for her dad’s funeral. The state of mind I had on the day of her dad’s death, was much better than the one I had at that time. Glimpses of her dad's death were screening in my mind. I came to know her from high school. Time made us be together because of travels and tuitions. SPOTLIGHT - Introduction

A goose was taking its solitary walk along the sides of a small pond, where greenish grass had exhibited its beauty. The walking gesture was careless as if it was the ruler of that region. Obviously it was not aware of my gaze from the balcony. Hot sips of coffee were warming up my senses. I turned my head to the left and gazed at the living room of my new apartment. I saw huge unpacked boxes and packages with no human sounds inside the house. A couple of days ago my previous apartment was overflowing with cousins and friends. The smell of Indian flavors from my dishes was spicing up the ambience. Spades were playing hide and seek with everyone. Heated arguments of Mafia (game) which lasted overnight, were adding up the temperature to the tropical region. Tickets to ride Europe were virtually bought and traveled by us.
